The 2009 Pie Down Results!

Who is the best pie maker in Charlottesville? That was a question posed by Jamie Schwartz in a Twitter tweet a few weeks ago. In a blink of an eye the power of social networking and Charlottesville had a challenge between Marijean Jaggers (STWorkingMom) and Brian Geiger (The Food Geek). The MudHouse, a favorite coffee hangout, hosted the event. Key supporters of both contestants rallied around their favorite pie maker.

And the winner is:
The Food Geek of Charlottesville, Brian Geiger, shown here with his prizes and the all-important certificate.

The pie makers shared samples of their pies with the audience. Marijean graciously shared her recipes for the Downtown Charlottesville (chocolate) Pie and the Jumble Berry Pie.

Final Note: There are rumbles of a rematch in Crozet, VA this fall so stay tune for another Pie Down!
